War does not only destroy buildings, roads and power lines. It disrupts every part of community life, including the work of caring for animals caught in the middle of it.
Zaporizhzhia City Council has asked Pickups for Peace for help replacing their animal transport vehicle after their last one was destroyed in a missile strike. This was not a luxury vehicle. It was a practical, working van used to move animals safely when they needed help.
We have sourced an ex-MOD dog unit van with four large cages, designed for safe animal transport. It is exactly the kind of vehicle that can be put to work quickly and effectively in Ukraine.
